IDSA's Midwest District Conference, "HOME - Urban Seduction and Design," is set to take place in Chicago April 28-30. For those of you in attendance, let us know your thoughts about the speakers, ideas and events from the conference.
Is urban "in"? Are cities the next big lifestyle trend? We want to know what you think!
For more information on the conference, visit www.urbanseduction.org.
I was inspired by the discussion panel today (Friday)regarding design inspiration and designer influences. I couldn't help but brainstorm and think that it would be helpful to have another resource on IDSA.org. I think the success of networking on myspace.com is very interesting. What if IDSA offered something similar- but each designer could publish his or her inspirational website links and thier own design philosophy (to which people could respond with questions/ comments). This would provide a resource for designers to surf for design inspiration when they are stuck- maybe the main page displays the top 10 most common inspirational website links. Also, publishing the design philosophies offers a forum in which designers can be inspired and provoked on a daily basis- rather than when opportunities or conferences arise... just couldn't resist the idea.

Scott Henderson is a great example of American ingenuity meets European optimism/stlish whimsy. An amazing set of accomplishments that puts one of us (idsA) up there with international design stars. Great to see him!

For those of you missed Chicago Chef, Grant Achatz' early morning presentation, Wired Magazine did a great article on him in their latest issue (link below). Definitely one of most unique and interesting surprises of the conference!

I have been in medical field for a very long time and I came across such incidents where I personally had to go hospitals to meet emergencies, this was a very risky routine. Well now, since many hospitals have installed video conferencing equipment, my routine greatly decreased since I have conferences with other doctors through the video meetings.

Since my management installed video conferencing equipment in our company’s board room, it becomes very lively when sitting in board meetings and client meetings. Before getting the system installed every meeting was like just preparing for outdoor meetings but now it is changed.

As an event planner I have admired such events where video conferencing system is installed, especially such events that are broadcasted in different cities, this is a good approach of having a live interactive event.

"Video conferencing is great way to protect the environment by cutting down business trips as traveling does harm the air in some ways. Video conferencing to day is recognized as one of the approaches for a green environment.

I strongly agree that internet marketing is the key of promoting a website. Even if a website is well designed and maintained there is no use of it until the website is promoted to get people’s attention. One should consider Internet marketing an important part of web development.

Shredders have really helped me and my colleagues reduce the office trash and even more importantly reduce the risk of personal information being leaked out for identity thieves.

Once I was video conferencing with my college classmate and I had to go on a bathroom break, my computer was completely idle till when my kid sister thought it was just a movie so while she was just playing around with the mouse and my classmate scared her by conferencing. It was very scary for her but it was funny.

Getting a webcam and microphone was very handy for me to have a personal video conferencing with my close friends and relatives in far places. Small investment and great benefits.

Sitting with the doctors in a room and talking with other doctors via video conferencing was very exciting for me when I first time sat for a meeting. I first felt like a movie going on until when one of the doctors asked me for my comments. It was really weird and exciting.
